Valley Forge Casino Resort will host the Philadelphia Sportscard and Memorabilia Show June 22-24 in the resort’s convention center. The show had originally been scheduled for March but construction delays with the opening of the new casino forced a postponement.
Several all-star athletes, including Baseball Hall of Fame’s Jim Palmer, will be in attendance to sign autographs.
The show will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 22; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 23; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 24. It will feature approximately 115 tables of sports collectibles, including vintage baseball, football, basketball and hockey sports cards; vintage sports memorabilia and equipment; vintage and contemporary autographed sports items; and game worn items.
Former NBA star Chet Walker joins former big league infielder Dave Cash, pitcher David West and Palmer on Saturday. Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley will sign on Sunday. Mail order autographs are available through MAB Celebrity.
The major sports auction houses will be in attendance to appraise, buy and consign items. The major authentication companies, including SGC, JSA, PSA/DNA and Beckett, also will be in attendance to examine and provide letters of authenticity for cards and autographs.
Hunt Auctions is again serving as host for the show, which began back in the mid-1970s.
Admission is $8 daily or $10 for a weekend pass.
Located in the Casino Tower, the convention center provides over 100,000 square feet of meeting, convention and exhibit space.
