The St. Louis Cardinals have few peers when it comes to bringing a sports collecting element to their winter fan fest. Fans and collectors turn out by the thousands.
The club has announced its plans for next month’s event, which include an appearance by the Albert Pujols.
Cardinals Care has confirmed that Albert Pujols will headline the 13th annual Winter Warm-Up along with other teammates from the 2008 season. In addition, there will be dozens of former Cardinals, including Hall-of-Famers, signing autographs at one of the most popular fan events in baseball. The three-day event will take place on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend: Saturday, Sunday and Monday, January 17-19, 2009. Times are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday. The Winter Warm-Up will again be at the Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis.
Many players’ autographs are free with an admission pass, while others require an autograph ticket available through a specific additional donation. Autograph tickets will be available each day of the Winter Warm-Up until sold out and at an Early-Bird Autograph Ticket sale on Saturday, January 10th at the Millennium Hotel from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Fans may check the Cardinals internet site for announcements regarding specific players who will attend, autograph dates and times, donation amounts (if applicable), auction items and other Warm-Up details. The site will be updated regularly as details and players are confirmed.
Cardinals Care has also released a list of auction items available at the upcoming Winter Warm-Up. Hundreds of items will comprise the highest quality and largest memorabilia auction in Winter Warm-Up history. There will be two silent auctions and two live auctions on the Main Stage on each of the three days of the Winter Warm-Up. Highlights of available auction items are:

The most popular attractions of the Warm-Up will return for 2009, including autograph sessions, clinics on baseball techniques and strategy, interactive games and a sports card and memorabilia show. Panel discussions with team owners, scouts, broadcasters and other baseball officials and personalities will also take place throughout the weekend.
Admission passes are still available via the internet at www.stlcardinals.com, by phone at 314-345-9000 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week, and Monday through Friday at the Busch Stadium administrative offices at 700 Clark Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans my also buy Warm-Up admission passes at the Cardinals Team Stores at Union Station, The Galleria, St. Louis Mills, St. Clair Square, South County Mall and Mid Rivers Mall. Admission passes, valid for all three days of the Warm-Up, are $40 for fans age 16 and over, $10 for children age 5 to 15, while kids under 5 are admitted free of charge. Members of the military, police and fire departments with an active ID will receive one free adult pass which must be obtained by coming to the Cardinal offices.
