Thanksgiving weekend means Black Friday deals for some; card shows for others. Two larger annual three-day shows will return this weekend.
At the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY, JP’s Sports/Rock Solid Promotions will have its 175-table show Friday through Sunday. Saturday visits by Don Mattingly and Alan Trammell will be part of the autograph schedule. John Starks, Mike Richter and several former baseball players are also scheduled to appear.
The show takes place from 1 PM- 7PM Saturday; 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday. Admission is $10 with kids 12 and under free.
Cincy Card Shows is again holding its three-day event at Moeller High School in Cincinnati.
In addition to dozens of dealers from across the eastern half of the country, the show will have several autograph guests including members of the 1970s Big Red Machine. A long-awaited appearance by Dan Driessen is on the schedule for both Friday night and Saturday. Tony Perez, Ken Griffey Sr., Dave Concepcion and Don Gullett will sign as well. Recently-retired Reds radio announcer Marty Brennaman, Chris Sabo, Dave Parker will also appear.
Show hours are Friday Nov 29 from 11 AM- 8 PM; Saturday Nov 30 from 10-5 and Sunday December 1 from 10-4.
Admission is $3 with weekend passes available for $6 and VIP admission which includes 10 AM entry on Friday and autograph line priority is $15.
JSA will be taking autograph submissions at both shows.
The annual Black Friday one-day show at the Mansfield, MA Holiday Inn is also on the docket. The November 29 event is sponsored by Cardboard Promotions.
The show has about 95 tables of cards and memorabilia each year. Show hours are 8:45 -2:45.
