The market is hot and so are some of the boxes of cards taken in a wild smash and grab burglary at a hobby shop in Alaska.
Police in the Anchorage area say a suspect driving a stolen car rammed into the glass storefront of Bosco’s in Spenard around 5 AM Saturday. Three people jumped out of the vehicle, grabbed sports cards and ran out, jumping into a waiting SUV across the street.
“They clearly knew where they were going and what they were getting,” owner John Weddleton told the Anchorage Daily News.”

While the store specializes in comic books and gaming, it also sells sports cards and that’s what was targeted.
It’s the third time the store has been burglarized this year. Ironically, Weddleton says a crew was scheduled to have steel collapsing gates installed just five hours after Saturday’s incident. He was still tallying up exactly what was stolen.
A clean-up effort allowed the store to stay open over the weekend, with customers entering through a side door.
No arrests have been made but police are investigating.
