There are dinners, speeches, presentations, parades and a pre-season football game. Sandwiched in the middle of Pro Football Hall of Fame induction weekend in Canton, Ohio is an autograph session.
This year, seven new members joined the club including Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice. Those two big names brought thousands of fans into the city and a few hundred out to a special autograph session at the Hall.
For $500 a pop, you got all seven new members, but Smith and Rice weren’t signing anything but flat items–unless you stuck around for a more exclusive private session that took place later. Tickets were gone months ago.
The Canton Repository offers a story on the Hall’s signing session, which included the usual number of star-struck fans.
