After reading about the 2010 Bowman Chrome Superfractor on Yahoo Sports, the former collector decided he missed the thrill of a rare rookie card and called up the owner to get pre-approved for bidding.

Power told Beckett Media that he was willing to go only so high, but was pleasantly surprised when the auction closed at less than $17,000.
The auction put some nice coin in the bank for the Virginia-based seller, but until now the buyer’s identity hasn’t been revealed. Here’s the interview.
