That Red Sox jersey a construction worker attempted to bury in the newly-poured concrete of the new Yankee Stadium was jack-hammered into submission Sunday. Ridiculously outraged as they were, Yankee management apparently has their heart in the right place.
It took five hours for crews to find and dig up the David Ortiz replica shirt a Red Sox fan buried while helping build the Yankees’ new park.
His attempt to curse the new home of the Bronx Bombers didn’t work out but the whole thing created quite an uproar. The first bit of lore from a stadium that won’t see a real game for nearly 12 months was funny stuff for everyone but the miffed Yankee management team. At least they didn’t decide to burn it.
If you missed the story, you have to watch it below if only to hear the reaction of the construction worker’s young daughter, who is already fully on board with the Yankee-hating thing.
