If you started a baseball card business back in 1990, your odds of still being around today were not very good. Hundreds of shops have disappeared over that time.
However, in Fresno, CA, the Gooboian brothers are still at it.
They own Bases Loaded, a shop with humble beginnings that focused on customer service and also wasn’t afraid of changing with the times.
Diversification has been an important ingredient for their longevity, they say.
Some kids who grew up buying cards from Bases Loaded back in the 90’s are now bringing their own kids into the shop.
“I love seeing that; it’s just so cool,” said Marc.
The Fresno Bee stopped by and wrote this small business profile on the long-running shop.
