Greg Estes figured it was worth five bucks.
It had two flat tires. What looked like broken pedals and had obviously been ridden before.
Estes plunked down his cash at the yard sale in Owenton, Kentucky and started to do a little research.
One of his first stops was a bike shop where the man inside just about fell over.
It turns out Estes had a really nice bike…a custom made model that was once ridden by former Tour de France winner Floyd Landis.
Even though Landis is sort of the Jose Canseco of cycling these days, the bike itself is one a lot of serious cyclists would like to get their hands on.
The story that appeared in the local paper is cool, even if you’re not really into bikes.
