Home run ball #50 went for $25,000. Now, David Ortiz is hoping to give a boost to charity once again as he surrenders the ball he hit for his 52nd of the season.
Red Sox slugger David Ortiz has had a season to remember, even if his team isn't going back to the playoffs.
Ortiz set a new club home run record for one season when he belted his 51st of the season last week. The record-tying 50th home run ball was auctioned by MLB.com last night. Now, Ortiz is giving up his 52nd ball as well so the same two charities can increase their bottom line.
