It's a milestone ball…sort of. David Ortiz tied an old Red Sox club record with his 50th home run. A fan traded it back to him, but now it's headed for a charity auction.
David Ortiz tied Jimmie Foxx for the all-time Boston Red Sox single-season home run mark when he hit his 50th Wednesday night.
A fan caught the blast, then swapped it back to Ortiz after the game for some other items. It's not staying in Big Papi's collection, though. He's given it to the team for a fund-raising auction.
Thursday night, he set a new record with #51….and then #52.
