The Greater Boston Sports Collectors Club hosts a three-day event in Wilmington this weekend with a Hall of Fame guest list –and a few stories.
Twenty or thirty years ago, there were clubs of sports collectors around North America. They held shows and events on a regular basis for a $5 or $10 annual membership fee. Many are long gone, but the Greater Boston Sports Colletors Club is still going strong.
They’ll hold their 24th annual card and memorabilia show at the Shriner’s Auditorium in Wilmington with an autograph guest list that includes Bill Russell, Tom "Satch" Sanders, Robert Parish, Mike Schmidt, Pete Rose and Robin Yount, among others. It’s the biggest show in New England.
Dozens of dealers from across the eastern half of the country will be set up. The Wilmington Advocate has more on the show and a profile of another online autograph company in Massachusetts.
