Connor Bedard will lead off the 2023-24 Upper Deck Series 2 Young Guns checklist.
On the final day of the company’s Diamond Dealer Conference in Los Angeles, it was announced that the Chicago Black Hawks teenage star will be card no. 451 when Series 2 is released on Feb. 28.
He’ll also be on the checklist (no. 500) along with Leo Carlsson of the Anaheim Ducks. both players are currently dealing with injuries that will keep them sidelined for multiple weeks.

Series 1 Hockey was released in November.
Upper Deck also announced that its upcoming SP Game Used product will have cards that carry a piece of one of the nets from Bedard’s first game against the Pens. Net pieces will be used in other upcoming releases as well.
The 2023-24 O-Pee-Chee Top Rookie Bounty will include a Bedard autograph card.
Other news from the Thursday portion of the three-day Diamond Dealer Conference included:
- Upper Deck is bringing back the EX2000 brand as an NHL release sometime in the fall of 2024 or perhaps next winter. Inserts will include Star Date 3000, Hall or Nothing and New Reverberation.
- As we reported last fall, golf card products will return this year with Young Guns part of a flagship release set for this spring. The company says SP Game Used Golf is currently planned to release this summer along with another product called Portfolio.
- Upper Deck will make an AEW Black Diamond product that will include ‘World Title Belt Strap Relics’ featuring pieces from an actual AEW champion belt strap.
