Due to a backlog of orders, Beckett Grading has suspended its 10-day guaranteed service for trading cards.
A message on the company’s website reads, “Due to a historic number of orders/cards being submitted, and our growing wait times with our non-guaranteed service level, Beckett Grading will temporarily suspend their 10-day service level starting June 7, 2018.”
With strong market prices and a recent surge in popular rookie cards, collectors and dealers continue to flood grading services with vintage and modern submissions. PSA has also acknowledged some lengthy wait times for those who submit under its various service levels and is attempting to hire more staff to meet the ongoing demand.
Beckett still offers two and five-day guaranteed service and the low-cost non-guaranteed option that is often used by collectors who submit a large number of cards.
“Our goal with this move is to work on our extensive backlog that continues to grow daily, and examine cards in the manner they need to be examined,” the company stated.
Beckett says it’s not permanently eliminating the 10-day option, but at least for a while, customers will have to choose one of the other three options.
