The man who allegedly sold a bad batch of drugs to Delaware dealer/authenticator Seth Boyd has been arrested on federal charges.
Seth Boyd was college-educated. A popular 30 year-old who left a position at Duke University to make his living in the hobby on a full-time basis. He often set up tables at card shows with offerings of rare and Hall of Fame autographs.
Unfortunately, Boyd had also fallen victim to drug addiction. His senseless death this summer deeply saddened those who knew him.
Now, another Delaware man who is accused of selling him the fatal, tainted heroin has been arrested on a rarely-used federal charge of death resulting from the distribution of a controlled substance.
20 year-old Joseph Bentley apparently didn’t realize he was dealing in bad drugs, but that won’t matter to authorities who are prosecuting him in connection with Boyd’s death.
After a May arrest, police found Boyd’s obituary in Bentley’s wallet.
