One of the NHL’s dinosaur venues is on the way to demolition, but attempts are underway to part out seats and other items in an auction.
It’s formal name was the Memorial Auditorium. To fans in Buffalo and around the NHL, it was simply known as "The Aud".
The Buffalo Sabres’ former home has some history attached and even though it has a date with the wrecking ball as the city tends to the business of progress, there’s a move underfoot to make it the latest in a line of stadium memorabilia salvage projects.
Seats, dasher boards and possibly some other items might be sold next spring.
