A distributor and case break company are heading back to Japan, hoping to drum up more business overseas while inviting North American fans to tag along online.
GTS Distribution and Ripping Wax Inc. say they’ll be in Tokyo for two weeks, kicking off the release of an Asia-Pacific edition of 2015 Bowman Draft Baseball. They say it’s part of an effort to increase awareness of box and case breaks among Japanese collectors while introducing the Asian products to the North American market.
“From running the Case Break Pavilion at The National to planning these trips to the Asia-Pacific market, we are committed to bringing the most revolutionary and ground breaking ideas to the industry, while expanding the customer base, said David Gelfman founder and CEO of Ripping Wax. “It’s important to keep pushing the envelope with out of the box thinking in order to grow the number of consumers and the trading card market. I see the 2015 Bowman Draft Baseball Asia edition as a very exciting opportunity for everyone, especially those joining the breaks from Tokyo – it really is a win-win.”
Released Wednesday, the checklist for 2015 Bowman Draft includes only players who were picked in the 2015 MLB Draft.
