A 36-year-old man who police say tied up and robbed the elderly owner of an Oregon sports card shop has been arrested. Myrtle Creek police say 36-year-old Cory Ray Drennen of Roseburg is facing robbery and kidnapping charges.
The arrest follows a two-month investigation by Roseburg Police with assistance from Oregon State Police and other law enforcement agencies.
Drennen is accused of entering Myrtle Creek Sports Cards in February, tying up the owner with duct tape while armed with a handgun and stealing cash and merchandise from the store.
The owner, a man in his 80s, freed himself after about ten minutes and called 911. It was his recall of the incident that helped authorities crack the case and execute a search warrant on Drennen’s home, according to this story from KPIC-TV, which was there when the cops came knocking.
