Thieves smashed their way into a sports card shop near Dallas late Monday night, broke the glass on a store display case and stole a pile of graded cards.
It happened at American Dreams in Haltom City, west of Dallas. The store’s security cameras show two men dressed in light clothing inside the shop after smashing the shop’s glass front door. One of them wields a hammer, breaking the glass on the case and begins dumping dozens of cards into a large sack.
Pictures taken Tuesday and shared on the business’ Facebook page show shattered glass, a hammer cards and packs scattered across the floor of the shop.
Owner Scott Mann says at least $9,000 worth of modern cards was stolen including a 2020 Moasic Patrick Mahomes In it to Win It PSA 10; a 2021 Certified Mirror Blue Trevor Lawrence numbered to 75; a 2021 Leaf Pro Set Red Mojo Lawrence Autograph numbered to 35 and a 2020 Mosaic Blue Circles Kylian Mbappe PSA 9 numbered to 99. Either in their haste or lack of knowledge, the thieves left behind some more expensive cards.
