New York Knicks star Amar’e Stoudemire has signed a game-worn memorabilia and autograph deal with Steiner Sports.
The company says it will offer hand-signed jerseys, autographed basketballs and photos, game-used shoes, arm bands, arm sleeves and goggles in its first product line.
According to Steiner, “part of the proceeds will benefit the Amar’e Stoudemire Foundation and its programs in New York and abroad.” Just how much that is wasn’t revealed, nor was the amount Steiner is paying Stoudemire for his autograph and sweaty gear.
In 2010-11, the newly acquired star led the Knicks to their first playoff berth since 2004.
He joins other New York stars who have deals with Steiner including Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Mark Messier, Henrik Lundqvist, Eli Manning and Rex Ryan.
“Amar’e has captured the fancy of the New York sports fan in a big way,” said Steiner chairman Brandon Steiner. “He signed with the Knicks with no question in his mind that he could lead the franchise to great success.”
