Albert Pujols’ 700th home run ball is now on the auction block. Goldin Auctions is selling the ball that put the St. Louis Cardinals slugger in one of baseball’s most exclusive clubs in its October Monthly Sports Auction.
As of Thursday afternoon, bidding had reached $130,000 (Update: Pujols 700th Home Run Ball Sells for $360,000)
Goldin had acknowledged receiving the ball on consignment in a video posted to social media two weeks ago.
Pujols belted his 699th homer in the third inning of the Cardinals-Dodgers game September 23 at Dodger Stadium. One inning later, he connected again for #700, sending the ball pitched by Phil Bickford over the left field wall where it was caught by Dodgers fan Marlowe Leal, who consigned it to Goldin.

Only Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth and Pujols have surpassed 700 homers in their careers.
While the Cardinals wanted the ball, Pujols wasn’t too upset about a fan profiting off his milestone clout.
“Souvenirs are for the fans. I don’t have any problem if they want to keep it,” Pujols told reporters after the game. “If they want to give it back, that’s great. But at the end of the day, I don’t focus on material stuff.”
The ball carries MLB authentication and is registered into their database.
The ball hit by Aaron Judge for his American League record breaking 62nd homer earlier this month was also caught by a fan who is using an attorney to sift through possible outcomes, but so far its fate hasn’t been determined.

Bidding is set to run through November 5.
