A fast-growing Miami area sports card business has a fancy new home. AA Mint Cards opened the doors to its new retail location in Cooper City on Saturday.
Collectors lined up outside to be among the first to enter the ultramodern shop, which includes 2,400 square-feet of space.
Aaron Amarant, with help from his father Mark, opened AA Mint Cards in its original location in the summer of 2021. A year later, thanks to special protective glass that survived a sledgehammer attack, they avoided substantial losses from a burglary attempt.
The new store features a 60-foot “wax wall” with unopened boxes and a vending machine with over 90 types of boxes and packs.
The shop features AA’s patent pending Graded Retail Interactive Display (GRID), which allows multi-channel real-time offerings of graded trading cards on aamintcards.com, eBay, in store, and other sales channels. The moment an offered card is purchased anywhere it is simultaneously removed from all channels on the GRID system.
Inventory changes daily and new items will be displayed in graded card showcases each morning. The store carries single cards from all sports and a variety of different eras.
AA Mint is also a PSA Grading Submission Center, allowing customers to submit cards for grading with full real time visibility into each step of the grading process.
“Our goal is to provide visibility and transparency to our customers while providing a one stop shop,” remarked Aaron Amarant. “People will drive long distances to visit our destination. We provide the complete hobby experience that is rarely found in a retail store.”
The shop will continue offering athlete and celebrity appearances and will be doing live breaks in-store that will be streamed to social media. In addition, there is a space to broadcast live podcasts and interviews.
TVs and an up to the minute electronic sports ticker mounted on the wall provide the latest sports updates.
AA Mint Cards gave away over $10,000 worth of items during the grand opening. The store hosted a trade night event from 5 PM to 10 PM Saturday night.
In addition to its retail shop, AA Mint Cards has an eBay store with nearly 6,000 items listed.
