Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear when you could be sitting in a bar in Lufkin, Texas and be joined by a bus full of Dallas Cowboys, all quite pleased to sign autographs. One man’s 1960s memory was just rediscovered.
If he’d only had a football.
When he stopped by a bar in Texas one day back in the 1960s, Billy Moore wasn’t expecting to gain about 40 new drinking buddies. But times were different then and when the Dallas Cowboys walked in, even a guy who wasn’t really that much of a football fan got out a big sheet of paper and a pen.
He pulled this small piece of football (and saloon) history out of its forgotten place recently, wondering what it might be worth. Not enough to buy a bus, we suspect, but a great conversation piece.
