The Great American Collectibles Show featuring Red Sox Hall of Famer, Rico Petrocelli, and hobby author/ radio host Tom Zappala, is launching a fundraiser in support of The Jimmy Fund/ Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
The show has partnered with The National Sports Collectors Convention, PSA and eBay for Charity to raise money for the organization.
The fundraiser will culminate during Major League Baseball Spring Training on Wednesday, March 6, with a special two-hour live broadcast of The Great American Collectibles Show from “Boston’s On The Beach” in Delray Beach, Florida, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. EST.
The evening’s events will include a live auction of sports memorabilia on eBay for Charity as well as surprise appearances by sports celebrity guests. All proceeds will go to The Jimmy Fund.
Several of the show’s advertisers have already contributed items for the auction.
The Jimmy Fund is a children’s cancer charity founded in New England more than 70 years ago. The Jimmy Fund Clinic originally partnered with the Boston Braves but after the Braves left Boston for Milwaukee in 1953, Ted Williams and the Boston Red Sox picked up the torch. Today The Jimmy Fund is the primary charity of the Red Sox organization.
Produced in cooperation with PSA, the Great American Collectibles Show features discussion of sports collecting-related topics, weekly guests and some good-natured ribbing. You can catch the show every Wednesday at 6 p.m. EST on the Sports Collectors Daily Facebook page,
