The fourth best 1967 Topps baseball set on PSA’s Registry is no more. Bidders in Mile High Card Company’s latest auction put down enough big bids on individual cards that the 607 card set was sold individually at a cumulative total of $170,133, besting the top bid for the set as a whole.
With nearly every card grading 9 or 10, there were plenty of options for collectors to upgrade their own set. Record-shattering prices were attained for numerous cards including the #150 Mickey Mantle. Graded PSA 9, the card sold for a shocking price of nearly $14,552–about seven times what they typically sold for just five years ago. A PSA 10 Al Kaline from the set rocketed to $13,021. The two key high number rookie cards—Tom Seaver and Rod Carew, both graded 9—netted over $12,000 combined.
“Prices all across the board were at or near record numbers in this auction. It’s a good time to be a Mile High Card Company consignor and we anticipate even better results going forward,” said MHCC President and CEO Brian Drent.
A T206 Eddie Plank SGC 40 VG 3 was another featured attraction and one collector finally nailed it down for a price of $65,362.
