After 16 years off the baseball card calendar, it’s a brand that made its return in 2022. Now, it looks like it’s here to stay. 2024 Topps Pristine Baseball is set to arrive once again as a late summer release.
Pristine is a different sort of higher end product. Each Hobby box contains six “tri-packs,” which are essentially two packs inside an outer pack. There are ten cards per tri-pack for a total of 60 cards per box.
Among the 60 cards will be two on-card autographs plus an autographed relic card, five inserts and ten base Refractors.
The 2024 Topps Pristine base set will be 300 cards, about one-third of which are rookies.
Cards #251-300 are focused on the 2023 All-Star Game, which is a bit odd with a release date coming six weeks after the 2024 game.
There are eight colored parallels as well as “Pristine” parallels with an abstract pattern background.
Returning insert sets from last year include Swings of Summer, a ten-card set, Oh Snap, a set made up of 18 mostly rookie cards and 7 Wonders–a seven-card set of players ranging from Babe Ruth to Elly De La Cruz.
Other inserts in the product will include Pristine Productions (25 cards), Squeaky Clean (15 cards), Frozen Ropes (28 cards including ten rookies), Northern Lights (23 including nine rookies) and Let’s Go Chrome.
Several insert sets will have autographed versions.
Speaking of signed cards, Pristine Autographs will be the “base” versions most commonly found.
Personal Endorsements and dual autographed cards are also part of the checklist (available for download below).
Autograph relics include Pristine Pieces, ASG 2023 Pristine Pieces and Popular Demand.
The release date for 2024 Topps Pristine Baseball is Friday, August 30.
