2023 Topps Gilded Collection Set for Playoff Return

The inaugural edition was released just seven months ago, but the 2023 edition of Topps Gilded Baseball is set to arrive next month.

A higher-end product, Gilded puts a new gold spin on Topps Chrome.  Each box contains five cards:  one Framed autograph card or Framed Cut Signature along with three numbered base cards or parallels. The autographs will come in a separate pack from the base cards and parallels.

Base Set

The 150-card Gold Etch base set features both current and former stars.  The base cards are all Refractors that are serial numbered to 99 or less. The “or less” means parallels that will include:

Wave Gold Etch Parallel – #’d to 75 
Mini-Diamond Gold Etch Parallel – #’d to 50
Ray Wave Gold Etch Parallel – #’d to 25
Lava Gold Etch Parallel – #’d to 10

Base Set “Cast in Gold” Variations are numbered to 199 and are focused on rookies. They’ll also have 1/1 SuperFractor parallels.

Autographs

Gold Framed Hall of Famer Autographs are new this year. 

They will carry varied numbering along with these parallel possibilities:

Rose Gold Parallel – #’d to 50 
Emerald Parallel – #’d to 25
Onyx Parallel – #’d to 10
Ruby Parallel – #’d to 5
Platinum Parallel – #’d 1-of-1

Also new are Gallery of Gold Autographs, which will feature “gold embellished and golden framed autographs,” according to Topps. Parallels will include:

Emerald Parallel – #’d to 25
Onyx Parallel – #’d to 10
Ruby Parallel – #’d to 5
Platinum Parallel – #’d 1-of-1

Topps Chrome Gold Etch Autographs are the third subset of signed cards in 2023 Gilded.  Those parallels will include:

Yellow Parallel – #’d to 75  
Blue Parallel – #’d to 50
Rose Gold Parallel – #’d to 25
Red Parallel – #’d to 5
SuperFractor Parallel – #’d 1-of-1

There will be cut signatures featuring a checklist of past greats.  All will be 1-1.  

The release date for 2023 Topps Gilded Collection Baseball is Oct. 4, the day after the MLB postseason gets underway. Boxes of the 2022 release are selling on eBay for $750-$850.
