After skipping 2022, Topps Big League Baseball is back in 2023 with a brand new format.
The typically inexpensive and kid-friendly release is touting “exciting, fun and colorful designs,” as well as tiers of rarity for its base set.
2023 Topps Big League is set to release on March 31, right around the beginning of the MLB season.
Product Configuration
Each box of 2023 Big League Baseball will have 18 packs. Each pack will contain eight cards. Cases will hold 20 boxes.
Blaster boxes will be produced as well.
Base Set
The 310-card base set will feature Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare and Legendary tiers of cards. The card number will correspond to the rarity. Rookies, current stars and retired legends will all be part of the checklist.

- Rare Blue Foil – #251-275 (1 per box)
- Super Rare Red Foil – #276-300 (1:90 packs)
- Legendary Gold Foil – #301-310 (1:360 packs)

Inserts
Eight new inserts highlight the new product.
- City Slickers (1:4 Packs) will features some of the games best players sporting their City Connect jersey.
- Topps Big Leaguers (1:4 Packs) is inspired by the 1992 Topps Kids set and features eclectic designs by artist Drake Cereal.
- Game Day Drip Gold Foil shares the drippiest outfits that players have worn to games. Topps calls this set “limited.”
- LET’S GO! is a set of chrome cards that collectors can chase. Insert parallels for the LET’S GO! set include Red Refractors #’d to 5 and 1/1 SuperFractors. This set is “super limited” according to Topps.
- 8-bit Ballers (1:4 Packs) will celebrate the best baseball video game cheat codes of players, like Bo Jackson.
- Mascots (1:9 Packs) will feature everyone’s favorite team mascots from around the league.
- Mascots Mania Foil Variations (1:4 Cases) are super rare variations add a foil sheen to the Mascots set.
- Roll Call – Wildstyle Edition (1:4 Packs) is led by street artist CES and calls out some of the best players in the game.
Autographs
Autographs are not guaranteed, but they do exist in this product, under the name of Big League Blue Foil Autographs and Opening Act Blue Foil Autographs. Both will both have these parallel possibilities:
- Blue Foil
- Gold Foil – #/50
- Orange Foil – #/25
- Red Foil – #/5
- FoilFractor – 1/1
Some insert sets will have parallels including City Slickers, 8-Bit Ballers and Roll Call Wildstlye. All will be numbered to 25.

Social Media Follow Back Redemptions will allow for a big league player to follow you back on Instagram.
2023 Topps Big League won’t be for hit chasers, but as usual, the price should reflect that. Blaster boxes are currently being pre-sold on eBay for under $30.
