Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has led his father’s football program back into the spotlight. Now he’s getting his first football cards featuring his school colors.
Sanders and his versatile teammate Travis Hunter are among the players featured in the upcoming release of 2023 Bowman University Chrome Football. Both will have autographed cards in the product as well as base cards and inserts.
Current Heisman Trophy contenders Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (North Carolina) and Marvin Harrison Jr. (Ohio State) will be among others who have autographs randomly packed in ’23 Bowman U.
Sanders already has cards inside Onyx vintage and they’ve been selling for impressive numbers since Colorado’s first win under “Coach Prime,” Deion Sanders. However, those cards don’t carry the collegiate licensing that are part of Topps’ Bowman U line.
Configuration
Each box will have 24 packs with four cards per pack. A typical Hobby box will have two autographs, four Prospect Refractor parallels, one Prospect Shimmer Refractor and at least three base color parallels or image variations to go along with base cards. Look for other configurations as well, including blaster boxes.
Look for one autograph in every six to seven blaster boxes and around two numbered parallels for every three boxes opened. This year’s product does have some on-card autographs.

The 2023 Bowman U Chrome Football base set will include 200 players but each will have a stadium full of parallel versions, some of which will be exclusive to case and box break companies. Others will be exclusive to Hobby boxes.
