Once a retail exclusive at big box stores, Bowman Mega Boxes will be now available to hobby shops and online retailers.
Topps says the 2023 edition has a release date of May 31. A checklist is below.
The format remains much the same, with boxes containing four regular Bowman packs and two packs containing special “Mojo” pattered cards that are exclusive to the Mega boxes.
All packs contain five cards. Cases will hold 40 boxes.
It’s those two Mega packs that are the big attraction for collectors. The top 50 base and top 50 Chrome Prospect cards will get the Mega Chrome patterned look and they’ll have some fresh parallels versions, too, including:
- Purple Mega Refractor – #’d to 250
- Aqua Mega Refractor – #’d to 225
- Pink Mega Refractor – #’d to 199
- Navy Mega Refractor – #’d to 175
- Blue Mega Refractor – #’d to 150
- Green Mega Refractor – #’d to 99
- Yellow Mega Refractor – #’d to 75
- Gold Mega Refractor – #’d to 50
- Orange Mega Refractor – #’d to 25
- Red Mega Refractor – #’d to 5
- Black Mega Refractor – #’d 1-of-1
Rookie of the Year Favorites inserts also get the Mega pattern treatment. A typical box will have one, with potential parallels including:
- Purple Mega Refractor – #’d to 250
- Pink Mega Refractor – #’d to 199
- Blue Mega Refractor – #’d to 150
- Green Mega Refractor – #’d to 99
- Gold Mega Refractor – #’d to 50
- Orange Mega Refractor – #’d to 25
- Red Mega Refractor – #’d to 5
- Black Mega Refractor – #’d 1-of-1
Sights on September inserts will be a bit tougher at one in every four packs. Parallels for those include:

• Blue Mega Refractor – #’d to 150
• Green Mega Refractor – #’d to 99
• Gold Mega Refractor – #’d to 50
• Orange Mega Refractor – #’d to 25

There will also be Image Variations Megas that will be “limited,” according to Topps. 1/1 Mega Refractor versions are planned.
Autographs are possible, but they’ll be tough to pull. Chrome Prospect Mega Autographs will be post prevalent. They’ll have four different Refractor versions:
• Blue Mega Refractor – #’d to 150
• Green Mega Refractor – #’d to 99
• Orange Mega Refractor – #’d to 25
• Black Mega Refractor – #’d 1-of-1
Chrome Rookies Mega Autographs (numbered to 99) and Chrome Prospect Image Variation Mega Autographs (# to 25) are also part of the plan. Each will have Orange parallels numbered to 25 and 1/1 Black versions.
