Topps has released the 2022 edition of its online exclusive 206 offering.
Harkening back to the original T206 tobacco cards issued from 1909-1911, the Topps 206 cards are of the same size and feature current players and former greats.
It’s the the product’s third year as an online exclusive.
The cards are sold by packs in multiple series or “waves” offered during the baseball season. The cards come in a box similar in size to the original American Tobacco packages.
How many of each card are printed depends on how many packs are ordered during the 30-day period in which each wave is available.
Each pack has ten cards including two parallels .The various cigarette brands used in the original T206 form the basis for the parallels with Polar Bear Tobacco being the rarest parallel at one in every 30 packs.
The Wave 1 base set consists of 100 cards (see below).
In addition, there are some exclusives including:
- Topps 206 Base – Blank Backs (1:20 packs)
• Surprise Player image variation (limited to 200)
• Surprise Rookie action image variation (limited to 100)
