The wait to take a shot at pulling an autograph from the most anticipated NBA rookie in years is about to come to an end. Topps will release 2022-23 Bowman U Inception on May 19, with Victor Wembanyama autographs among those on the checklist. The 19-year-old big man from France will undoubtedly be the first player picked in June’s draft and a potential game changer for the franchise that wins the NBA’s Draft Lottery.
While they won’t be considered official rookie cards, they will be Wembanyama’s first officially licensed cards you can pull from a pack. He has appeared as part of a sheet of cards issued via SI Kids magazine.
Wembanyama will be pictured in his French pro uniform in Bowman U, a product made up of both male and female athletes in football and basketball. He won’t be in the 100-card base set, but another highly anticipated amateur player will. Women’s National Player of the Year Caitlin Clark of Iowa will have a base card as well as autographs in two different autograph sets: Top of the Class (# to 100) and Primordial Prospects (# to 99).
Each box of Bowman U Inception will have a single pack of seven cards with two autographs or autographed relic cards guaranteed per box.
Among the other players who will have autographs are Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson, all recently drafted rookie quarterbacks.

The base set of 2022-23 Inception U will consist of 100 athletes with a multitude of colored parallels possible, including:

More than 190 athletes have signed autographs for the product.
Base Prospect Autographs will be sequentially numbered with parallel versions that include:

Bowman U Top of the Class Autographs feature the “top NIL prospects from 2022-23,” according to Topps. They’ll have Red (# to 10) and 1/1 FoilFractor versions.
Bowman University Class of 2023 Die-Cut Autographs will come in four designs that together will form “2-0-2-3”. All are 1 of 1.
Primordial Prospect Autographs will have five different parallel possibilities including:
• Blue Foil: Seq #’d to 75
• Gold Foil: Seq #’d to 50
• Orange Foil: Seq #’d to 25
• Red Foil: Seq #’d to 5

Short Print Inception Autographs are image variations that will be numbered to 10.
Autographed Relic Cards
Inception Autographed Jumbo Relic Cards will feature player-worn uniform relics and player autographs. Base versions will be numbered with lower serial numbered cards coming in:

• Orange Foil – #’d to 25
• Red Foil – #’d to 5
• Inception FoilFractor – using manufacturer logo, #’d 1 of 1
• Laundry Tag Parallel – #’d 1 of 1
Inception Autograph Dual Relic Dual Auto Cards will pair two players and two memorabilia pieces. The four parallel versions will be:
• Gold Foil – #’d to 50 or less
• Orange Foil – #’d to 25
• Red Foil – #’d to 5
• Inception FoilFractor – using manufacturer logo, #’d 1 of 1
Inception Autograph Nameplate Book Cards feature players from both sports and include oversized jumbo player-worn patch pieces from jersey nameplates or worn memorabilia with autographs.
They’ll be numbered including a trio of parallels:

• Football/Basketball Red Foil Parallel: Seq #’d to 5
