Ravenous collectors scooped up 2021 Topps Allen & Ginter X this week as the dark-hued version of the standard Allen & Ginter set returned once again as an online exclusive. Topps Montgomery Club members got first shot on Wednesday and when the general public sales opened on Thursday, the product didn’t last long at $175 per box. 2020 Ginter X was $100.
Ginter X puts a black border around this year’s regular release with what is typically a 350 card base set (the last 50 are short prints) featuring current players, retired stars and all-time greats from throughout baseball history. There are also mini versions of each card, with one per pack. The late Hank Aaron is the first card in the set.
Each box of Ginter X holds 18 packs with eight cards per pack and one autographed card per box.
