The injury and recent PED suspension of Fernando Tatis hasn’t scared fans of current era trading cards away from chasing some other young athletes.
Goldin Auctions’ monthly sale is off and running with multiple cards expected to bring six-figure prices. The headliner is the 1/1 2021 Panini National Treasures Platinum Trevor Lawrence NFL Shield Rookie Patch Autograph. Graded BGS 8/10, the one of a kind card of the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback has a current high bid of $190,000.
A 2020 National Treasures Rookie Patch Autograph Stars & Stripes Justin Herbert RPA (#06/20) graded PSA 10 has attracted 13 bids and sits at $150,000.
Those two are among nearly 800 items in the auction. While the majority of the listings are modern trading cards, not all of them are rookie cards of current era players.
The auction also includes a PSA 10 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan (current bid $140,034), a 2003-04 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Limited Logos Kobe Bryant signed game-used patch card (#27/75) graded BGS NM-MT+ 8.5/Beckett 10 and a 2006-07 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Limited Logos Michael Jordan patch auto (#16/50) graded BGS NM+ 7.5/Beckett 10.
Other highlights are a Bryant uniform from March 2016 and nearly 50 other game-used items, including a signed baseball from the game in which Cal Ripken set the MLB consecutive games played record, another game ball from the end of the streak and two Steph Curry jerseys.
Multiple Babe Ruth signed baseballs and Barry Bonds’ 500th home run ball are also among the items offered.
