Topps has released 2021 Bowman Sapphire Baseball, their latest online exclusive release focused on players who’ve yet to make their MLB debuts or have just arrived in the big leagues this season.
Sapphire is a spruced up, shiny, bluish-colored version of the Chrome Prospects cards that were part of the regular 2021 Bowman Baseball release.
Montgomery Club members got first crack at them Tuesday and they were available to the public for a brief time Wednesday before Topps paused the sale. They’re now available in raffle format where you can sign up for a chance to buy them (you must be logged into a Topps account).
The checklist is now available and linked below.
2021 Bowman Sapphire Configuration
Each box carries eight packs with four cards per pack and you can look for one autographed card per box, including some of baseball’s best prospects.
Base Set and Autographs
There are 150 cards on the base set checklist and while you can expect colored parallels, that information hasn’t been released.
Among the top prospects who have base cards in the product are Bobby Witt Jr., Adley Rutschman, Spencer Torkelson, CJ Abrams, Julio Rodriguez, Jarred Kelenic and Mackenzie Gore.
Torkelson also appears on the autograph checklist, which includes 66 names in all.
The original cost was $150 per box. See boxes that have made their way to eBay here.
