Topps signed a trading card and collectible deal with French soccer powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain last month. Now, they’ve announced a high-end, 40-card set focused on the squad that’s set to arrive August 12.
Billed as “a crossover between Europe’s biggest stars and Topps’ iconic Chrome brand,” 2021 Topps Chrome Paris St. Germain features players on the club’s first team team. All cards will be numbered to less than 100 and only 270 boxes will be produced.
Twenty of the 40 cards in each box will carry autographs, including the first officially licensed on-card autographs of young superstar Kylian Mbappé.
Each box will have at least one Lionel Messi, one Neymar and one Mbappé autograph.
The base cards will be numbered to 89 or less while each base autograph card will be numbered no higher than 99.
Autographed cards will have Refractor parallels numbered to 75, Wave Refractors to 50 or less as well as Speckle #’d to 35 or less; Black #’d to 25 or less; Gold #’d to 10 or less; Red #’d to 5 or less and 1/1 SuperFractors.
Base cards will have Refractor parallels numbered to 65 as well as Wave #’d to 45; Speckle #’d to 30; Black #’d to 25; Gold #’d to 10; Red #’d to 5 and 1/1 SuperFractors.
Topps says not all 20 players who will be on the checklist are guaranteed per box as some may contain one or two duplicate players.
There was no immediate word on price, but based on similar high-end sports card products you can expect it to run into the thousands per box.
