Last season’s NBA releases are still trickling out. 2021-22 Panini Select Basketball is scheduled to arrive about a month before the ’22-23 season opens.
Each box will contain 12 packs with 5 cards per pack. Cases will hold 12 boxes.
Panini promises three autograph and/or memorabilia cards per box.
The base set has three tiers in ascending order of rarity: Base Concourse, Base Premier Level, and Base Courtside. Panini hasn’t yet released the number of parallels but did indicate the rare Zebra versions would return.
As usual, Rookie Jersey Autographs & Rookie Signatures will be among the most sought after cards in the product. In Flight Signatures returns with multiple parallels in the works including the 1/1 Black Prizm.
Inserts that will be part of the release include Unstoppable, En Fuego, Select Future, and Phenomenon with a variety of parallels set to be on the checklist including Silver Prizm, Gold Prizm (#’d/10), and 1/1 Black Prizm.
Each Hobby box contains 12 Prizms from a group that includes Silver, Scope, Tri-Color, Light-Blue (#’d/299), Red (#’d/199), White (#’d/149), Neon Green (#’d/75), TriDye (#’d/25) , Gold (#’d/10), Green (#’d/5) , Black (1/1) and Zebra.
Panini will also release a Hobby Hybrid (H2) version of Select with boxes that hold four packs of six cards. They’ll be the only place to find Disco Prizms and the various parallels that go with them.
The current release date for 2021-22 Select Basketball is October 26.
