One of Panini’s most popular products is back as a postseason release. After being pushed back a couple of months, 2021-22 Prizm Basketball is set to arrive July 8.
Here’s a sneak peek at what’ll be inside.
Configuration and Base Set
“12” is the magic number with Prizm. Each box will have 12 packs with 12 cards in each. Each case will hold 12 boxes.
Look for two autographs in each box along with 22 Prizms and ten inserts.
No official word on the size of the base set yet, but you can bank on a mountain of parallels.
Black, Black Gold, Gold and Mojo Prizms will be exclusive to Hobby boxes, which are currently being offered online for $1,350-$1,450 or so.
Autographs
Sensational Signatures and Flashback Signatures contain autographs from both current stars and former greats with the latter drawing upon the brand’s earliest designs. Rookie Signatures cards will only be found in Hobby boxes. Colored parallels will abound, as usual but Panini has yet to release any specifics.
Inserts
Panini will honor the NBA’s 75th anniversary with a couple of new inserts centered around great players from throughout history. Other new inserts include Prizmatic and Mindset.
Fireworks, Widescreen and Fearless are other insert sets planned for Prizm.
Last year’s Prizm Hobby boxes are currently selling online for around $2,000.
