It’ll be a third trip around the sun for a brand designed to give off a galaxy vibe when 2021-22 Panini Origins Basketball arrives March 9.
First launched as a basketball brand in 2019, Origins brings plenty of color, with an artsy style look that’s easy to pick out.
Hobby boxes will carry a single pack of seven cards: two autograph or memorabilia cards; two inserts or parallels and three base cards.
There haven’t been many 2021-22 NBA card releases so far this season showing this season’s rookies in their pro uniforms so Origins should attract interest.
Rookie Jersey Autographs will be among the big draws, with several parallels in the works including Green, Black and Gold, identified by the background color at the top. There will be some 1/1 parallel versions, too.
Rookie Autographs ditch the jersey swatch. Those, too, will have plenty of variety, including those in silver and gold ink. Origins Autographs is another option for snaring rookie autos.
Legendary Autographs feature signatures from past and present stars including Luka Doncic.
Origins will also offer booklet cards, including Six Star Signature and Rookie Auto Booklet Patches. Each will have 1/1 Black parallels.
Look for a brand new lineup of SSP Inserts this year in Origins, including Originals, Origins Stories, Big Bang and Origination, with rookies, veterans and former greats all on the checklist.
