It may be 2023 but trading card products dating to the last NBA last season continue to trickle out. Currently scheduled to be released on May 19, 2023, 2021-22 Panini Flawless Basketball marks the return of the product that’s so high end it arrives in a briefcase.
Flawless will bring what the hobby has come to expect: a single pack with nine autograph/memorabilia cards and one base card that’s numbered to 20 or less. Cases will hold two boxes.
Base Rookies are sequentially numbered to 20, and feature a genuine diamond embedded in the card.
While the checklist won’t be out until close to release date, we do know that every memorabilia swatch used in production of 2021-22 Flawless will be from an actual game. The product will carry “the first game worn jersey cards of the year for several 2021 rookies,” according to Panini.
Look for a heavy dose of 75th anniversary content as collectors saw with other NBA releases dated to last season.
Among the memorabilia autograph content are Flawless Patch Autographs, Star Swatch Signatures and Signature Prime Materials.
1/1 Logoman Autographs are back, of course, as well as 1/1 Laundry Tag Autographs with a checklist that includes some of the league’s top players.
Championship Tags is another autographed memorabilia subset.
Look for non-memorabilia autographs on Draft Gem Signatures and 75th Anniversary Autographs as well as 75th Anniversary memorabilia cards with a logo patch.
Flawless picks pairs draft choices from different years with gem stones.
The SRP on Flawless is $2,750 but as usual with upper tier issues, you can expect prices to be higher upon release.
