On the heels of Hoops, another flagship-style NBA basketball card brand is now in the Panini pipeline. 2021-22 Donruss Basketball is set to arrive this winter as another of the early products to show this year’s rookies in their pro uniforms.
Donruss typically comes packed in a few different ways, depending on where you buy it, but the Hobby boxes will again be delivered in fat pack style. Each box of the 2021-22 issue will carry ten packs with 30 cards per pack. Cases will hold ten boxes.
What’s inside? Plenty of base cards, inserts and parallels, with a couple of hits. Panini is promising 60 inserts and parallels among the 300 cards in each box and there will be one autographed card and one memorabilia card, too.
While the size of the base set hasn’t been revealed, last year’s issue included 250 base cards, 50 of which were Rated Rookies, the Donruss calling card. There’s no word yet on the number or type of base parallels, but Holo Gold Laser and Holo Black Laser will be two of them.
Look for exclusive content inside each type of 2021-22 Donruss packaging. As for Hobby exclusives, the popular Net Marvels cards, done to resemble the front of a comic book, are back.
Craftsmen, Duos, Production Line, Retro Series, and Crunch Time all look to be Hobby exclusives as well. Press Proof parallels are among the possibilities.
Autograph cards will come in the form of Rated Rookie Signatures and Next Day, the latter having on-card signatures.
Memorabilia hits come from Jersey Kings and Rookie Jersey Kings, with Prime versions offering a multi-colored swatch.
The release date for 2021-22 Donruss Basketball is currently set for February 25.
