Topps National Baseball Card Day is back for 2020, with hobby shops offering free NBCD exclusive packs and offering incentives to acquire more.
The annual promotion is set for Saturday, August 8.
Anyone can get a free pack simply by visiting a participating hobby shop and there are also retail elements at Target and Walmart.
The cards are branded with the NBCD logo on the front. The checklist and a list of participating hobby shops is below.
Customers who make a $10 purchase will receive a free Pete Alonso card that’s exclusive to the promotion. The following Saturday, August 15, another $10 purchase will mean a free Yordan Alvarez card.
At Target, each specially marked 2020 Topps Chrome hangar box will include a free pack and a special offer surrounding the upcoming release of Topps Fire while at Walmart stores, the Chrome hangar offer will be centered around the 2020 Topps Gallery product.
In the past, all 30 MLB teams have offered a stadium giveaway in conjunction with the event but obviously that’s not happening this season.
