Among the early baseball products on the calendar once again is 2020 Topps Gypsy Queen baseball.
Topps has released details for the annual release, which is set to arrive March 25. A full checklist is available for download below.
2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Configuration and Base Set
Each box of GQ will again contain 24 packs with eight cards per pack and ten boxes per case. Each box will have two autographs and one Chrome Box Topper.
The design of 2020 Gypsy Queen is much the same as it was in 2019. Topps plans a 300-card base set, one of the largest of the year beyond the flagship release. There will also be an “extended base set” of 20 short printed cards featuring “all-time greats and retired legends” that will fall one per box, so putting together a master set will take a little bit of effort and/or expense.
There will be Missing Nameplate parallels along with Silver versions that will be exclusive to a “Monster Box” product (12 Silver parallels will be in each Monster box). Indigo parallels (# to 250), Blue parallels (new for 2020 and # to 150); Red (# to 5) and 1/1 Black parallels will also be in the mix. Topps is once again producing Green parallels that will be exclusive to Value Packs typically found at retail outlets.
Inserts
Topps says to “look for an assortment of all-new variation themes and collectible insert sets” in GQ.
Among their plans are base set photo variations that include images from 2019 Jackie Robinson Day (look for Black parallel versions that are 1/1); Fortune Teller minis that offer predictions for the 2020 season (1 in every 6 packs) with Indigo (# to 250); Green (# to 99) and 1/1 Black parallels as well as Tarot of the Diamond (1:8 packs), also with Indigo, retail exclusive Green and 1/1 Black parallel versions.
Autographed Relic Cards
Topps has acquired some game-used lineup cards that will be cut up and used for relic cards that will carry an autograph from the player whose name has been cut from the card. They’ll obviously be 1/1.

Autograph Garments – #’d to 50 with 1/1 Black parallels.
Autograph Patch Book Cards – #’d to 20 (with 1/1 Black parallels).
Pull-Up Sock Autograph Relics – #’d to 10 (with 1/1 Black parallels)
Bases Around the League Autograph Relic – #’d to 20 (with 1/1 Black parallels)
Power Performers Portrait Art Patch Originals – #’d to 1
Autographs
Regular Gypsy Queen Autographs will include:
Indigo Parallel – #’d to 150
Blue Parallel – #’d to 99
Black Parallel – #’d 1-of-1
There will be mini versions of the rookie autographs in 2020 Gypsy Queen including Red & White parallels numbered to 50 and 1/1 Black versions.
Fortune Teller Mini Autographs will also have 1/1 Black parallels.
Jackie Robinson Day cards will have image variation autographs including Black & White parallels numbered to 42 and 1/1 Black versions.
Chrome Box Toppers
Back for another year, the GQ box toppers put a Chrome touch into a product that’s otherwise standard cardboard. Packed one per box, the checklist will include big name players and offer Indigo (# to 150); Blue (# to 99); Gold (# to 50); Red (# to 5) and 1/1 Superfractor parallels.
Autographed versions will also be out there with new 1/1 SuperFractor versions.
Boxes are on eBay for around $110.
