The entire release schedule is on hold right now, but Topps is moving forward with plans for 2020 Five Star baseball, which is currently set for release on August 26. Here’s a look at what to expect. A full checklist is available for download below.
2020 Topps Five Star Configuration
Five Star is an all-autograph product and box breaks don’t take long with just two cards per pack. Both cards will feature on-card autographs but higher value cut signature cards of past greats are also possible. Cases will hold eight boxes. Case hits include metallic ink autographs, Autographed Jumbo Patch Cards and Dual-Subject Pentamerous Penmanship cards.
Autographed Patch Cards
Current and former players will be showcased here with what Topps calls ” jumbo uniform patch pieces
and on-card autographs.” All will be numbered to 25 or less including:
• Gold Parallel – #’d to 10
• Silver Rainbow Parallel – #’d to 5
• Team Patch Parallel – #’d 1 of 1
• MLB Silhouetted Batter Logo Patch Parallel – #’d 1 of 1
• Laundry Tag Patch Parallel – #’d 1 of 1
• Jersey Brand Patch Parallel – #’d 1 of 1
Autograph Cards
The base autograph checklist will include over 50 players with five possible parallels:
• Purple Parallel – #’d to 50
• Blue Parallel – #’d to 25
• Green Parallel – #’d to 15
• Gold Parallel – #’d to 10
• Orange Parallel – #’d to 5
• Red Parallel – #’d 1 of 1
There will also be dual autograph versions numbered to 10 or less and triple signatures numbered to 5 or less.
Five Star Golden Graphs (players sign in gold ink) and Silver Signatures (silver ink) are case hits, with cards from both numbered to 40 or less.

Five Tool Phenom Autographs feature players whose games include the ability to do everything well. Each will be numbered to 25 or less and 1/1 parallels.
The Five Star Signatures checklist will feature up to 60 greats. Some will include inscriptions and all will be numbered to 20 or less.
Five Star Pentamerous Penmanship Autographs will use a shadowbox design and feature a checklist of up to 50 players. All cards will be numbered to 25 or less including:
• Green – #’d to 10
• Gold – #’d to 5
• Orange – #’d to 3
• Red – #’d 1 of 1
Dual subject Pentamerous Penmanship pairs two players. They’ll be numbered to 5 or less.
Cut Signatures and Celebrity Cut Signatures will also be 1/1, with the latter focused on notable names from pop culture.
