One of the calendar’s shiniest, most colorful baseball products will make its annual appearance this summer. With roots that date back to 1993, the 2020 edition of Topps Finest will release as a mid-range product promising autographs, inserts and base cards. The release date is June 20.
2020 Topps Finest Basics
Finest hobby “master boxes” will again contain two packs or “mini boxes.” Each master box (around $170 on eBay now) will contain 12 packs with five cards per pack. Every master box should have two autographed cards inside. There will be eight master boxes per case.
Finest will offer a 100-card base set but there will be 25 short prints Topps calls an “extended” base set. Parallels for the regular base set include:
– Refractor Parallel -1:3 Packs
– Purple Refractor Parallel – #’d to 250
– Blue Refractor Parallel – #’d to 150
– Green Refractor Parallel – #’d to 99
– Gold Refractor Parallel – #’d to 50
– Orange Refractor Parallel – #’d to 25
– Red Refractor Parallel – #’d to 5
– SuperFractor Parallel – #’d 1-of-1
The Extended base set will have only Gold, Orange and Red parallels.
Inserts
There will be four different insert sets in 2020 Finest, two of which will be new to the product.
Found one in every three packs, “The Man” will showcase some of the game’s best players on the 1998 Finest design.
One in every six packs will contain a new Finest Duals card pairing what Topps calls “Dynamic Duos” from around baseball.
One in every 12 packs will have a Finest Firsts card in it. The holdover insert focuses on young players.
The toughest inserts will be the Finest Careers inserts which annually highlight a single player’s career accomplishments. This year’s subject is Ichiro. The cards will be found in every 48 packs.
All four insert sets will have Gold, Red and Superfractor Parallels
Autographs
Standard 2020 Topps Finest autos will have a rainbow of parallel versions including:

The insert cards will also have autographed versions. Look for Finest Firsts Autographs to also have an ample supply of parallels including:

Finest Moments, The Man and Duals will have a smaller number of parallel versions.
Finest Careers autographs will be numbered to 10, while Finest Original autos will be numbered to 20.
There will once again by Finest Mystery Redemption autographs in the mix.
