It’s a mix of past and present but like Stadium Club, it’s the photography that drives the latest on-demand baseball release from Topps. 2020 Topps Black & White offers some non-traditional images in each pack of 30 cards, along with inserts that commemorate moments on the field from the recent past and long ago. There’s also a 1 in 2 chance for an autograph.
Black and White comes in 30 card packs for $60. Each pack includes 25 base cards (there are 75 on the checklist), plus five chase or parallel cards. Chase inserts include 2019 Champions and Awards, Historical Duos and Baseball Headlines (featuring memorable moments from the past). Parallels include unnumbered Sepia; Background (# to 25); and cards that are full color (# to 10 or 1). The autographs are on stickers and fall in every other pack.
The 75-player base set checklist includes stars, followed by rookies and an 11-card group of past greats. The backs have a short player bio.
Each of the insert base sets consists of 10 cards.
A total of 43 player autographs are possible, with Mike Trout, Christian Yelich, Shohei Ohtani, Ronald
Acuna Jr., Hank Aaron and Ken Griffey Jr. among the names.
Packs are available for one week or until they’re sold out. You can check out the info on the Topps website here.
