The annual Strongsville Sports Collectors Convention has joined the list of major show cancellations in the wake of CDC guidelines regarding the Coronavirus.
A vintage card and memorabilia-oriented show, the event has been a favorite of dealers and long-time collectors. It had been scheduled for April 17-19 but plans were officially scuttled Tuesday by Lelands, which took over promotional following last year’s show. It will not be rescheduled.
Restrictions on public gatherings and concern over the possible spread of COVD-19 have now put an end to four major hobby events: last weekend’s Chicago Sports Spectacular, this weekend’s GTSM show in New Jersey, Rich Altman’s Boston show (which has a new date of June 5-7, assuming things are back to normal by then) and now, Strongsville, which has hobby roots as far back as the 1970s.
The 2021 Strongsville show will be held April 16-18.
