2020 Panini Select football will be among the products that bridges the gap from the end of one NFL season to the beginning of another. The shiny annual release offers one of the year’s larger base sets dished out in several different tiers.
2020 Panini Select Football Configuration and Base Set
Panini is promising an average of two autographs and a memorabilia card per hobby box. There will be 12 packs per hobby box, with five cards per pack. Of those cards, there will be five Prizms, 10 Silvers and six inserts. First Off the Line and Hobby Hybrid editions are planned with different configurations and some exclusive cards.
The base set contains 400 cards but is divided into four distinct sections. That is one more than the 2019 product. There is the more common Concourse level, followed by Premier Level, Club Level, and Field Level. Field Level will be the toughest base cards to find.
Parallels will include hobby exclusive Tie-Dye Prizm cards and a super short-print Zebra parallel, which will be a case hit.
The Base Concourse set will have 14 different Prizm parallels to choose from: Silver, Tri-Color (numbered to 199), Blue (175), Maroon (149), Red (99), Purple (75), Orange (49), White (35), Tie-Dye (25), Gold (10), Green (5), Green and Black Snakeskin (2), Black (1/1) and Zebra.
The Premier Level will offer Prizm parallels in Silver, Tri-Color (numbered to 199), Blue (149), Light Blue (99), Purple (75), Neon Green (49), White (35), Tie-Dye (25), Gold (10), Green (5), Green and Black Snakeskin (2), Black (1/1) and Zebra.
Field Level will offer fewer Prizm parallels: Silver, Tri-Color (numbered to 75), Red (49), White (35), Tie-Dye (25), Gold (10), Green (5), Green and Black Snakeskin (2), Black (1/1) and Zebra.
Select has three hobby-exclusive inserts for collectors. Phenomenon features the NFL’s top young players. Select1ons focuses on players who were the No. 1 picks in the NFL draft, while Snapshots will feature “stunning photography.”
Each of these inserts will have parallels in Prizm, Tie-Dye (numbered to 25), Gold (10), Green (5) and Black (1/1).
NFL rookies will have a big presence in Select’s autograph offerings. Rookie Signatures Memorabilia Prizm will feature an autograph and a regular-sized swatch. There are Prizm parallels that can be found in Blue (numbered up to 75), Purple (49 or less), Tie-Dye (25 or less), Gold (10 or less), Green (5 or less) and Black (1/1).
The Jumbo Rookie Signatures Swatch adopts a horizontal design and showcases a larger swatch on the card. Prizm parallels are found in White (numbered up to 75), Copper (49 or less), Tie-Dye (25 or less), Gold (10 or less), and Green (5 or less). There is also a 1/1 Black Prizm, along with 1/1 cards of Black Prizm NFL Shield, Black Prizm Brand Logo and Black Prizm Laundry Nike.
The one memorabilia-only subset is the Jumbo Rookie Swatch Prizm. As the name implies, there is a very large swatch for each NFL rookie featured. Parallel Prizms include White (numbered to 35), Tie Dye (25), Gold (10), Green (5), Black NFL Shield (1/1), Brand Logo (1/1) and Laundry Nike (1/1).
2020 Select Football is set for release on March 31.
