Some hobby exclusive base cards, rookie autographs, the usual multi-swatch memorabilia cards and some case hits that go Kaboom! will all be part of 2020 Panini Absolute Football, set to arrive just ahead of Week 3 of the NFL regular season.
2020 Absolute Configuration
Each box of 2020 Absolute Football will include three packs of five cards. Each case will contain 12 boxes.
Each box will typically contain three autographs, including one Rookie Premiere Material auto, two memorabilia cards including one with multiple pieces, one insert, one rookie card and two parallels.
Base Set
The base set will consist of 200 cards, with half of those being rookies. In hobby boxes, they’ll be called Base Spectrum with a variety of parallels planned including:
*Red (# to 100)
*Orange (# to 75)
*Blue (# to 50)
*Green (# to 25)
Gold (# to 10)
Purple (# to 5)
Black 1/1
Autograph Cards
The Rookie Premier Materials will feature a first year player’s autograph and a piece of memorabilia, all numbered to 399 or less, including Spectrum (# to 99) and 1/1 Tag versions.
New this year are Hall Worthy Signatures, which are numbered to 99, 49(Gold) or 1/1 (Platinum) and feature a lineup of Pro Football Hall of Fame autographs.
Absolute Heroes Autographs and Gridiron Force Signatures are also new. Gridiron Force Signatures feature “powerful players” according to Panini. They’ll also have Gold and Platinum versions.
Signature Rookies Spectrum will carry more ink of 2020 draftees, with all numbered to 199 unless it’s a parallel version. Those will include:
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Red Max #’d/100
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Orange Max #’/d 75
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Blue Max #’d/50
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Green Max #’d/25
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Gold Max #’d/10
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Purple Max #’d/5
*Signature Rookies Spectrum Black 1/1
Memorabilia Cards
Among the memorabilia possibilities are Tools of the Trade 5 Prime cards, which will carry five relic pieces. They’ll be numbered to 60 or 49.
Jumbo Football and Jumbo Football Shields cards will feature oversized pieces of NFL footballs. No word on whether they’ll be game-used balls. Double, triple and quad memorabilia cards will also be in the mix.
The artsy Kaboom! Insert cards will be case hits that typically wind up being among the most expensive cards to snare on the aftermarket. They’ll have parallels including Gold (# to 10). There will be parallel versions numbered to either 5 or 1 that will have pieces of footballs in the mode of the Jumbo Football inserts.
2020 Absolute football is scheduled for release on September 25.
