One of the final hockey card products of the current season will arrive late this summer in the form of 2020-21 Upper Deck SP Authentic.
With a current release date of September 1, each box will carry 18 packs with five cards per pack. A typical box will have one autographed Future Watch rookie card numbered to 999 or less and one or two additional autographed card along with:
*Six regular Base Set Celebrated Moments, True Leaders and/or SP Top Performers
*Three base set Limited Red Parallels
*At least one Spectrum FX Bounty card
The base set will carry 232 cards, consisting of 100 regular cards and cards from three subsets: Celebrated Moments, Future Icons and Future Watch Rookies, with the latter coming in both signed and unsigned form. The first 50 of the autographed versions will carry a hand-written inscription.
Base parallels will include autographed versions as well as Base Set Limited Red, Base Set Limited Autos (featuring hard-signed autographs), and the much tougher Celebrated Moments autographs and Future Watch Mystery Black parallels (both signed and unsigned).
Future Watch Auto Patch cards will put a pair a patch piece with an auto.
Upper Deck will turn back the clock ten years with 2010-11 Retro Future Watch Autograph and Auto Patch cards.
Sign of the Times, Immortal Ink and Marks of Distinction are all back for another year. Included amongst the various Sign of the Times sets, including parallel sets and retro variation sets, is the “Decades Collection” featuring hard-signed autographs from over 40 retired stars.
Collectors can complete their Sign of the Times 1980’s and Sign of the Times 1990’s sets (’20-21 marks the third and final year of these intra-product overlay sets), continue their Sign of the Times 2000’s (second year) set, and start a new collection with the first 15 cards of the new Sign of the Times 2010’s set.
Also keep an eye out for several multi-player Sign of the Times autograph cards featuring two, three, four, six or eight standout active or retired players.
The Immortal Ink lineup is expanding in 2020-21 with an Immortal Ink Duals insert set featuring pairings of two past greats.
The Limited Auto Material set featuring hard-signed autographs and game-used memorabilia from current stars. There will be four tiers, each serial-numbered.
UD Authentics, one of three new insert sets in this season’s product, features autograph cards of active stars and retired legends. There’s a regular set along with a two-tiered, low-numbered Auto Patch set which pairs a piece of memorabilia with the autograph.
The SP Authentic Bounty Program offers die-hard collectors the chance to earn special cards for completing a 99-card Spectrum FX set. The first 50 who do it will get card #100 along with a complete 100-card Gold Parallel set. Upper Deck says more information on the bounty program will be available at UpperDeckBounty.com once 2020-21 SP Game Used is released.
